Cool Stuff He Does
He cooks dinner most nights,
provides attention on demand, is honest, buys me stamps, uses goofy puns,
holds my hand when we walk around,
lets me sleep with the light on after I wake up from a bad dream,
stays out of my way when I'm feeling REALLY CRANKY,
cheers me up when I'm sad,
provides me with unlimited smoochies and is an all-around great guy!

How he proposed
On July 2, 1995, Doug
proposed to me. We had been dating for two and a half years before he
"popped the question." He told me to pack my bags because he was taking me
on a surprise trip. I didn't find out where we were going until we arrived
at the airport. He whisked me away to New York City! We had a hotel room
with a view of Central Park. Sunday night he surprised me with tickets to
Shakespeare in the Park, where my favorite actor,
Patrick Stewart was playing Prospero in The Tempest.
After the play, he took me to Belvedere Castle AND read me a
poem he wrote, got down on one knee,
presented
the ring and asked me to marry him! I said "yes!" of course.
Very romantic and special! Romance is still alive in the 90's! Who knew?

A Wedding Surprise
For a special
wedding surprise, Doug invited none other than
Mickey Mouse, my favorite character of all time, to the wedding
reception! Mickey and I danced to Colors of the Wind from Pocohontas.
A wedding surprise from both of us to our guests was having the string quartet play the theme from Star Trek: The Next Generation as our recessional song.
In the same surprise theme, we each wrote our own vows to each other to read during the ceremony.
